The Rockets will be debuting their incoming recruits next Wednesday in the Grogan Room at Savage Hall at 4pm. This will be the first big update on UT football for the coming 2007 season. According to Rivals, we have recruited a couple three star rated players, notably DEs Claude Davis and Marlin Parker, RB Hosea Simpson, and QB DJ Lenehan.
Lenehan put up some spectacular numbers through his high school career, adding hundreds of rushing yards his soph and jr years. As a senior he shined as a passer, accumulating over 3000 yards and a pretty good td-int ratio of 32-9. Marlin Parker will come to UT with 70 tackles and 5 sacks over Boston College and Penn State.
As exciting as this is, what needs to be seen is how Opelt and Cochran can cut down on the turnovers. Ugly games like the early season one against Pitt cannot be repeated if UT is to make a MAC title run. I want to be able to link to highlight films of big wins and show pictures of UT backs outrunning the competition. Playing like the Raiders is no way to win.
